Yasmiṃ samaye kāmāvacaraṃ kusalaṃ cittaṃ uppannaṃ hoti somanassasahagataṃ ñāṇasampayuttaṃ pāṇātipātā viramantassa, yā tasmiṃ samaye pāṇātipātā ārati virati paṭivirati veramaṇī akiriyā akaraṇaṃ anajjhāpatti velāanatikkamo setughāto – idaṃ vuccati ‘‘pāṇātipātā veramaṇī sikkhāpadaṃ’’. Avasesā dhammā veramaṇiyā sampayuttā.
